Yesterday on 3/7/26, CMFD responded to a structure fire on Becky Blvd. Due to the swift response and robust training of our volunteers, crews were able to evacuate and search the home, confine the fire to the corner of the house in which the fire started, and save the rest of the structure. We believe that the early 911 call of the homeowner as soon as they believed a fire was underway was one of the major factors in the success of this incident.
A big thanks to our auto aid partners Pottsville Fire Dept, Moreland Fire Dept, and Linker Mountain Fire Dept for bringing apparatus and personnel to assist on this incident. Your partnership is appreciated and contributes greatly to our success as a team, and we are thankful for you!
Early alerts to potential fires is the best defense we have in saving life and property. Working fire alarms that have good, regularly checked batteries and aren't expired are crucial to this end. Alarm systems and integrated fire alarms are another great option to move the alert to a fire even earlier in the life of a fire. This gives fire crews more time and greater chances to extinguish fires before they grow and consume more property and cause more damage.
If you have questions regarding fire alarms, integrated fire alarm systems, or how we respond to structure fires, don't hesitate to shoot us a message!
