What an incredible weekend.

Over the past several days, search and rescue professionals, emergency responders, and volunteers from across Arkansas and neighboring states came together to learn, train, and strengthen the relationships that make our missions successful.

This conference wasn’t just about classes—it was about building a stronger search and rescue community. Every conversation, hands-on exercise, and networking opportunity helped prepare our teams to better serve those who need us most.

A sincere thank you to our instructors, sponsors, volunteers, partner agencies, and attendees who made this event possible. The dedication and professionalism displayed throughout the weekend are a testament to the strength of the Arkansas search and rescue community.

Field Exercise Underway

Conference participants are putting their skills to the test during today’s field exercise. Working together, SAR management students and field responders are challenged with locating multiple patients, identifying access routes, coordinating resources, stabilizing patients, and safely transporting them to definitive care.

Exercises like these bring together planning, leadership, communications, and hands-on rescue skills in a realistic environment—reinforcing the teamwork required for successful search and rescue operations.

From the classroom to the field, conference attendees spent today immersed in a wide variety of breakout sessions designed to strengthen search and rescue capabilities across Arkansas and beyond.

Topics included instructor development, tracking, UAV operations, patient assessment, evaluator development, and numerous other specialized disciplines that help responders better serve their communities.

One of the greatest strengths of the Arkansas Search and Rescue Association Conference is the opportunity for rescuers from diverse backgrounds and specialties to learn from experienced instructors, share knowledge, and build relationships that extend far beyond the classroom.

Thank you to our instructors, evaluators, volunteers, and attendees for making today’s training a success. Every lesson learned today helps build a stronger, more capable search and rescue community tomorrow.

Conference attendees are hearing from the helicopter rescue technicians of Arkansas USAR Task Force-1, highlighting their hoisting capabilities, rescue operations, and the role aviation resources play in complex SAR missions.

The partnership between AR TF-1 and the Arkansas National Guard provides the only hoist rescue capability in the state. This resource is invaluable for challenging patient access in remote and disaster environments.
