Mobility and sustainable, pedestrian–friendly neighborhoods are important to the citizens of Russellville.

Public Works is a department of the City of Russellville comprised of the City Engineer, Fleet Services Division, Street Department, Traffic Department, and GIS Services Our mission is to provide for the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible movement of people and goods and to maintain and enhance the transportation infrastructure through appropriate relationships and alliances. Another

critical responsibility is to provide or retrofit drainage systems that can efficiently remove the water from our streets and grounds and keep the 100-year runoff from entering our homes and businesses. Finally, Public Works also maintains the equipment fleet for the government of Russellville including those of the Russellville Police Department. We are proud of our reputation for customer response and strive to answer questions, concerns and problem reports quickly while maintaining balanced and effective progress on our programs.

Our Public Works Traffic team is working to ensure everything is ready for the start of school next week. Crosswalks are being restriped, and all school zone flashers have been updated and are ready for the new school year.

Morning flasher times are:
Monday through Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 8:10 a.m.

Afternoon flasher times:
Monday through Friday: 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please use extra caution in school zones and watch for students and pedestrians during these times.

Drop by the Streets Alive Russellville Public Input Meeting on Wednesday August 19, 2026 any time between 5:30pm and 7:30pm to help us identify conflict points, share your ideas on how we can improve safety, and let us know your safety priorities.

The public input meeting will be held at Point Remove at Central Fire Station located at 203 W 2nd Street, Russellville, AR 72801.

Our Street and Traffic teams have been hard at work this week completing road repairs on Lands End Point, spraying sidewalks to help control weeds, and installing signs at the new Russellville Recycle Drop-off Center. Thank you to our dedicated crews for the work they do every day to help keep Russellville safe, clean, and moving forward!

A lot of great things are happening around town this week!

Our crew has been out on Fairway making road repairs, and the Prairie Creek project continues to move right along as construction on the Commerce Avenue Bridge is now underway.
