We can’t say enough how much we appreciate Ramsey and Aiden this summer! 👏

These two have invested their time, knowledge, and energy into the wellness of our officers, creating individualized fitness and rehabilitation programs that are already making a difference. From improved fitness test times to healthier habits, their hard work is paying off.

Taking care of those who serve our campus is important, and we’re grateful for the passion, encouragement, and professionalism they’ve brought to our department every day.

‼️🥵💧 DRINK LOTS OF WATER!! Stay safe in this heat!

The National Weather Service has placed our area under an Extreme Heat Warning. If it feels like you can fry an egg on the sidewalk… we’re not recommending you try, but we understand the temptation.

A few reminders to help everyone stay safe:

• Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
• Limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the day.
• Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
• Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.
• Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—not even for a minute.
• If you’re working outside, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.

Know the signs of heat-related illness:

• Heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, muscle cramps, or weakness can be signs of heat exhaustion.
• If someone becomes confused, stops sweating, loses consciousness, or has a body temperature above 103°F, call 911 immediately. Those are signs of heat stroke, and it is a medical emergency.

Our firefighters, paramedics, police officers, utility crews, construction workers, and many others will be out in this heat serving our community. If you see them, a cold bottle of water and a kind word go a long way.
