🚨 Red lights. Stop arm. FULL STOP. 🚨

When a school bus stops with alternating red lights flashing, Arkansas law requires drivers approaching from either direction to come to a complete stop—unless the roadway is divided by a median or dividing strip at least 20 feet wide. Do not move until the bus is moving again.

Don’t try to “beat the bus.” Children may cross where you cannot see them.

Under Arkansas Code § 27-51-1004, passing a stopped school bus with red lights activated is prohibited. The law is simple: stop, stay alert, and give children the time and space to cross safely.

A few seconds of patience could save a life.

We had the privilege of providing lunch twice this month for the Russellville Police Department's Next Gen Responders Youth Academy!

More than 40 kiddos joined us downtown for lunch, and we enjoyed delicious meals from Stoby's Russellville. It was great to see these young community members learning, growing, and spending time together.

As construction continues in the area, we encourage everyone to remember to support our downtown businesses. They are open, ready to serve you, and appreciate your support now more than ever.

Saint Mary’s is proud to partner with Arkansas Children’s and local organizations to bring a new car seat safety program to the River Valley.

This collaboration supports child passenger safety by providing car seats to eligible families through participating community partners. Saint Mary’s stores the car seats for the program, while certified technicians and partner organizations help connect families with education, proper installation guidance and needed resources.

Fireworks Safety Reminder – City of Russellville

As we celebrate the 4th of July, please remember the importance of fireworks safety. The City of Russellville allows the discharge of fireworks within city limits from July 2nd–5th, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

Be safe.
Be respectful.
Be responsible.

Fireworks Safety Tips:

Never allow young children to handle fireworks.

Always have a responsible adult supervise firework activities.

Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby in case of fire or mishap.

Never point or throw fireworks at people, pets, vehicles, or buildings.

Never try to relight or handle malfunctioning fireworks—soak them in water and dispose of them properly.

Light fireworks one at a time, then back away to a safe distance.

Clean up all debris afterward to keep our neighborhoods clean and safe. Be mindful not to put hot fireworks in trash cans. Allow them to cool.
