💙 Did You Know? 💙

Community Action Agencies serve communities in 99% of America's counties and help millions of families every year through programs and services that promote stability, opportunity, and self-sufficiency.

At ARVAC, we are proud to be part of that mission right here in Arkansas.

From early childhood education and family services to workforce support, recovery services, housing assistance, and community partnerships, Community Action works every day to strengthen individuals, families, and communities. 💙

Today, we'd love to hear from YOU:

✨ What is one resource, service, or community program that has made a positive difference in your life or in the life of someone you know?

It doesn't have to be an ARVAC program. It could be a school, nonprofit, church, food bank, support group, community center, mentor, or local organization.

Let's share resources and celebrate the people and programs that help our communities thrive. ⬇️

💙 What a Month to Remember 💙

As we close out May, we are reflecting on a month filled with connection, growth, service, and community.

Throughout Community Action Month, we celebrated the incredible work being done every day to help individuals and families build brighter futures. We were reminded that Community Action is more than programs and services—it is people helping people and communities coming together to create lasting change.

May was also Mental Health Awareness Month, providing an opportunity to recognize the importance of mental wellness, self-care, recovery, and supporting one another through life's challenges. Together, we shared resources, encouragement, and conversations that help reduce stigma and promote hope.

This month also brought the opportunity to attend the 51st Annual ACAAA Spring Conference, where Community Action professionals from across Arkansas gathered to learn, collaborate, and strengthen our collective impact. We were honored to hear from industry leaders, including Jim Masters of the Center for Community Futures, whose decades of experience and contributions to Community Action continue to inspire agencies across the nation.

While May brought many opportunities to celebrate, it also included bittersweet moments as we said farewell to two valued members of our ARVAC family, Sonia Connerly and Rachael Reed. We thank them for their dedication, service, and the positive impact they have made on our organization and the people we serve. We wish them nothing but success and happiness in their next chapters.

As we look back on an incredible month, we invite you to join us in reliving the memories. 📸🎥

Be sure to check out our photo and video recap highlighting Community Action Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, the ACAAA Conference, staff celebrations, and many of the moments that made May so special.

Thank you to our employees, partners, volunteers, supporters, and community members who help make our mission possible every day.

💛 Thankful Thursday 💛

Community is built in the everyday moments. 💙

The encouragement.
The kindness.
The people who quietly step in to help others without expecting recognition.

At ARVAC, we believe those moments matter — because strong communities are created when people choose to care for one another. 🌟

Whether it’s:
💙 A coworker who always encourages others
💙 A friend who checks in
💙 A volunteer who shows up
💙 A community member who lends a helping hand

Small acts of kindness can leave a BIG impact.

Today, we want to spread some appreciation across our community. 🌟

👇 Tag someone in the comments who deserves a “thank you” today and tell us WHY you appreciate them.

Let’s fill the comments with positivity and gratitude. 💙

💙 Community Action Starts With Us 💙

As we close out Community Action Month, we wanted to do something simple today… remind our community that YOU matter.

At ARVAC, we see strength every day:
✨ Families pushing forward
✨ Parents working hard
✨ Neighbors helping neighbors
✨ Communities coming together during difficult times

Sometimes the biggest impact starts with small moments of encouragement. 🌟

So for today’s post, let’s create a chain of positivity:

💬 Drop ONE encouraging word in the comments for someone who may need it today.

Examples:
Hope.
Strength.
Healing.
Courage.
Peace.
Support.

You never know who may read your comment and feel a little less alone. 💙

❤️ Memorial Day ❤️

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Their courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. As we spend time with family, friends, and our communities today, we pause in gratitude for those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy.

At ARVAC, we are thankful for all who have served and for the families who carry their legacy forward. 🇺🇸

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.
