Campbell County Public Safety is closely monitoring the potential for severe weather and will provide updates as conditions develop.

A strong line of thunderstorms is expected to cross the area today. Severe storms could produce damaging winds, the potential for flash flooding and tornado threats.

Locations and Timing:

· Severe: The entire area this afternoonand evening.
· Flooding: Most of the area today into tonight.

Impacts:

· Damaging wind gusts can cause trees and power lines to fall, resulting in isolated power outages and blocked roads.
· Flash flooding can cause water levels to rise quickly in creeks, rivers, and flood-prone areas, potentially leading to flooded roads and bridges.
· Hail can cause damage to crops, break windows, and damage roofs.
· Tornadoes can cause significant wind damage and down power lines, which may cause localized power outages.

Please take the necessary precautions now, stay alert, and have a plan in place should severe weather occur.

In the event of an emergency, call 911 immediately. 📞

Stay safe, Campbell County. We’ll continue to share updates as new information becomes available.

Today, Campbell County Public Safety mourns the loss of Brookville-Timberlake Volunteer Fire Department Former Chief Jerry Womack.

Chief Womack faithfully served his community for 33 years with dedication, integrity, and a true servant’s heart. His impact reached far beyond his department as he trained and mentored countless firefighters throughout Central Virginia, leaving a lasting mark on the fire service. His influence will continue to be felt every time a firefighter answers the call, carrying forward the lessons, values, and dedication he instilled.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Womack family, his fire service family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Chief Womack’s legacy of leadership, service, and selflessness will never be forgotten.
