Congratulations to Paul E. Harvey on his new role as Deputy County Administrator. Paul has served Campbell County since 1999, serving as our Assistant County Administrator, Director of Community Development, Director of Youth Services, Zoning and Subdivision Administrator, and Community Development Manager.

Congratulations also to Brooke S. Wright on her promotion to Assistant to the County Administrator. Brooke has served Campbell County Administration since 2016, supporting the Clerk to the Board, Management Services, and the County Administrator.

We congratulate Paul and Brooke and wish them every success in their new positions!

At their August 4, 2026 meeting, the Board of Supervisors approved the updated Comprehensive Plan for 2026 - 2038. The Commonwealth of Virginia requires localities to prepare and adopt a comprehensive plan, to be reviewed at least once every five years.

County staff collected community feedback throughout the summer toward these updates and thanks local residents for their input and participation in this process.

CCUSA is implementing voluntary water conservation action steps throughout the service area as outlined in the Authority's established Drought Response and Contingency Plan. All commercial and residential customers are being asked to voluntarily reduce their indoor and outdoor water use.

Since October 2025, Campbell County and much of the Roanoke River Basin area has received 40-60% less rainfall than normal. Declining stream flow in the Big Otter River has triggered Stage 1 Voluntary Conservation measures for our area. Voluntary water conservation is a proactive measure designed to help preserve the region's water supply while encouraging simple, voluntary conservation practices throughout the community.

Many residents in the Campbell County area are already practicing conservation daily.

Here's how you can help:

Limit outdoor watering to before 10am and after 7pm when evaporation rates are the lowest.
Sweep surfaces instead of using a hose.
Turn off ornamental fountains.
Identify and repair leaks.
Turn off the tap while brushing teeth, washing your hands and shaving.
Reduce shower time and take baths with less water in the tub.
Only run full loads of laundry and run the dishwasher only when full.
