Today, we’re introducing you to some of the four-legged members of the Ruston Fire Department family! 🐶❤️

Our firefighters and staff have some pretty important family members at home — the ones who are always excited to see them after a shift, never complain about the long hours, and are always ready for some attention. ❤️

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office will be conducting a TRAINING EXECRCISE at Ruston High School today from 8AM- 12PM. Expect to see numerous emergency personnel and vehicles.

The Ruston Veterans Day Committee, in partnership with the City of Ruston, invites you to participate in the Liberty Ruck/5K.

90% of the proceeds will support our annual Veterans Day Program, and 10% will be donated to a veteran nonprofit organization.

Packet Pick-Up:
Packet pick-up will be available the evening before the race at the United Way Business Location (939 N. Trenton St., Ruston, LA 71270) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14.

For your convenience, race-day packet pick-up will also be available beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15 at the race site.

Entry Fees:
• Early Bird: $30 through midnight on August 14
• Race Day: $40

Race Divisions:
• 5K Run/Walk
• 1.7-Mile Ruck Run/Walk

Awards:
• 1st Overall Male and Female
• 1st Male and Female in each age group for both divisions:

10–20
21–30
31–40
41–50
51–60
61–70
71+

Participants are encouraged to wear attire representing their favorite branch of the U.S. military. Whether it's the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or Space Force, gear up and show your support!

When every second matters, Ruston Fire Department answers the call. The Ruston Fire Department provides Class 1 fire protection, full EMS transport, and specialized rescue services across the city.

We visited with Fire Chief Joe Martin to hear about their work, their stations, and the teams who keep Ruston safe, along with opportunities for those interested in a meaningful career with the department.

What a great time with the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office Youth Academy!

We always enjoy spending time with these students, giving them a closer look at a few life-saving measures, and showing them what it takes to serve our community.
