Employee Spotlight: Marilyn Rushing

For 26 years, Marilyn Rushing has been part of Lincoln Parish Schools, and today she serves as the secretary and bookkeeper at Dubach School.

For Marilyn, one of the best parts of Dubach is the people.

“The family atmosphere sets Dubach apart. If you’ve been a part of this environment, it’s hard for you to forget.”

And there’s a good chance you’ve seen her outside the front office, too! For the past 13 years, Marilyn has also coached cross country.

After 26 years, she says she’s most proud of the friendships she’s made along the way and the relationships she’s built with students, staff, parents and the Dubach community.

Her advice? “Pray about it and keep on going.”

We’re glad to have people like Marilyn who make our schools feel like family!

Ms. Gauthier’s students at Glen View are traveling around the world without ever leaving the classroom!

As part of their ELA Guidebook unit on My Librarian Is a Camel, Ms. Gauthier transformed her classroom into an airport, with different centers featuring countries from the book.

At each stop, students learn about places where children may not have access to a local library and the unique ways books are delivered to them - including by camel, elephant, boat and more!

A pretty fun way to bring a book to life!

Four students. Four OSHA 10 certifications!

Kameron Mitchell, Malena McCall, Johnavaughn Slaton, and Jimmy Keen represented Lincoln Parish Schools this summer in the inaugural Jump Start summer program at Louisiana Delta Community College.

The pilot program gives high school students with disabilities access to career preparation, industry exposure, hands-on learning, and workforce credentials.

All four students successfully completed the program and earned their OSHA 10 certification, an industry-recognized safety credential.

We’re proud of the work these students put in and even more excited about the opportunities ahead of them!

Don’t lower the bar. Remove the barriers.
