Lovelady Fire & Rescue Lovelady Fire & Rescue is a volunteer based fire station with paid personnel to supplement our volunteer force. We are continually accepting applications.

No experience necessary to volunteer and you can find an application on our website.

🚒🔥 2026 Avery Bishop Future Firefighter Camp Update! 🔥🚒

So far, 23 students have enrolled in our 2026 Future Firefighter Camp, and we are having an incredible week!

🧑‍🚒 Monday – Students learned valuable firefighting fundamentals and safety skills, along with receiving a full tour of Station 1 and an introduction to our apparatus and equipment.

💪🏻 Tuesday – Campers participated in a challenging obstacle course that emphasized the importance of teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.

🚑 Wednesday – It’s all things medical! Students will learn basic first aid, how to recognize and respond to choking emergencies, and Hands-Only CPR.

🚨 Thursday – Campers will learn a variety of rescue techniques used in the fire service and gain hands-on experience with rescue operations.

🌭 Friday – We’ll wrap up the week with a cookout for all participants and their families as we celebrate their accomplishments.

There’s still time to join the fun and experience what it’s like to be a firefighter! If you know a young person interested in firefighting, emergency services, teamwork, and helping others, we would love to have them.

What began as a smoke investigation ended with finding a structure fire. Units were dispatched to investigate for smoke in the area of Leger Rd today around 2 pm. While responding, heavy black smoke was noted and automatic aid was requested from other departments. On arrival, a vacant house was discovered to be involved along with a small area of woods next to the house. Quick work kept the fire from spreading further into the woods while also extinguishing the structure.

Strengthening our partnerships with departments across the county this evening! We participated in a water shuttle training exercise with departments we don’t normally get to work with.
This type of training helps us be ready for areas where there aren’t hydrants or they are inadequate to meet the fire load.

Crews responded to a vehicle fire this evening. Due to the location being in a remote part of our fire district, Salem Fire Rescue was alerted for automatic aid. Lovelady crews arrived to find a working vehicle fire and stretched a line for extinguishment with the assistance of Burke County Fire Marshal’s Office. The vehicle was towing a backhoe, caught fire, and rolled backwards into the vehicle behind it.

Lovelady was dispatched to a structure fire early this morning around 1:40 am. Our on duty part-time personnel, volunteers, and automatic aid agencies responded to find a detached garage fire. The building was well involved on arrival and E2 stretched the line to extinguish.
