The Borough has pressed PSE&G for information regarding the recent power outages in town. Their response is below. Complaints can be directed to PSE&G Customer Service at 1-800-436-7734:

PSE&G understands the frustration that recent power outages have caused customers in Rutherford and is taking steps to safely improve electric reliability in the affected area.

Our investigation identified an electrical wire issue that requires replacement. PSE&G has taken interim steps to address the issue while preparing for the planned infrastructure work.

Beginning the week of August 24, PSE&G crews are scheduled to replace electrical wire and poles in the affected area. We appreciate the community’s patience while this work is completed.

Tonight, the Mayor and Council swore in Deputy Chief Sean Farrell as the 11th Chief of Police of the Rutherford Police Department. Chief Farrell's professionalism, integrity, and dedication to protecting and serving this community has earned him the respect of his fellow officers and the people he serves each day.
