Join the Friends of the Library of Rutherford for a Fall Cooking Decorating Class at the Rutherford Public Library on October 14, 2026 at 6:00PM. Attendees will enjoy a two-hour class taught by our very own board member, Jennifer Costa This event is for adults only, 21+ to attend.

Sweets Chef Jen, as she is known in Rutherford and on Instagram, is an award-winning pastry chef from California. Jennifer has over 20 years of pastry experience working in world-class kitchens from The Waterside Inn in Bray, England to The Lodge at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California to Oceans in New York City. Now that Jennifer calls Rutherford home, she would love to give back by teaching a Royal Icing Cookie Decorating class at her favorite spot, the public library.

During the class you can expect to learn about the different consistencies of royal icing, a recipe to take home for both royal icing and her popular sugar cookie, and a few different techniques to help you wow your friends and family this holiday season!

The class includes:

- a lesson in multiple cookie decoration designs

- a box with 5 cookies to decorate with 4 different colors of icing

- light refreshments, prizes & more

This event is BYOB and 21+ only so please bring your favorite adult beverage to enjoy while you decorate.

All event proceeds will go to support Rutherford Public Library programs.

Come join us this Tuesday April 28th for our adult movie night, featuring “Hamnet” . Movie starts promptly at 6pm
