Tonight after our regular meeting we sharped our skills on turbo drafting. Most of our water sources are creeks and ponds in our area. This is a great tool to supply water. I’m proud of our young and old firefighters and Jr firefighters learning this operation. There is no doubt they all showed they can get water and flow it.

Shingle Hollow Fire Department trained last night on Primary Search of a commercial building. Learning new techniques and polishing the basics on search and rescue and RIT.

Hazardous Weather Update 4.14.26

🔥 The combination of dry fuels, very warm temperatures, gusty winds, and reduced humidity will lead to an increased risk of wildfires again today.

🍂 Most dry grasses, dead leaves, and other tree litter could easily ignite and spread fire quickly.

❌ A statewide burn ban issued by the N.C. Forest Service remains in place.
