Rutherford County is excited to announce a new opportunity as we launch our Film Committee initiative 🎬
We are currently seeking proposals from qualified web designers and developers to create a dedicated Film website that will showcase Rutherford County as a premier destination for film, television, and commercial production.
To support a strong local connection and collaboration, we are focusing on vendors located within approximately 60 miles of Rutherford County.
This project will highlight our unique locations, resources, and assets to attract filmmakers and production companies to our area.
If you or someone you know is interested, we invite you to request the full RFP and submit a proposal.

This mornings legislative breakfast was very informative. It’s always great to connect with our legislators and hear updates on the region. Thank you Foothills Regional Commission for hosting this annual event and extending us an invitation.

Cool spotlight moment: Lake Lure and Chimney Rock being represented in the presidential chambers of the White House.

This week, I sat down with Governor Cooper and elected officials from hard-hit western North Carolina to thank them in person for their partnership as we continue our focus on hurricane recovery efforts.

As I've said before, we are doing everything we can to get your communities what they need in these difficult times.

Additionally, you've got my word that we will work with my successor's transition team to explain the urgency of recovery efforts in North Carolina – and urge them to stay there until the job is done.

Thank you Rutherford County Airport for having us today at your Community Fly-in Event. We had a great time!

Congrats to our Marketing Coordinator for winning last weeks Trivia Treat! Try your luck every week with the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce for your chance at a hope house gift card and bragging rights, of course!

Congratulations to last week’s Trivia Treat winner, Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority’s Taylor Suzanne Hardin!
Taylor was the first accurate answer and won a gift card from Hope House Coffee Co.!

❓”In the fall of 1980, how many students were at Trinity Christian School in grades kindergarten through eighth?”

âś… The correct answer is 120 students! This was in a new building on donated land at 299 Deter Street. "The building was constructed by parents, most of whom were not trained as builders."

The Rutherford County Chamber emails a trivia question to our members each week. Hope House Coffee Co. sponsors the Trivia Treat.

Our Community, Our Heart đź’™

Hurricane Helene has left an undeniable impact on our cherished communities of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. The storm's destruction has temporarily dimmed the beauty and warmth of these places, beloved by both locals and visitors alike.

But in the face of these challenges, we remain hopeful and resilient. We want to express our deepest gratitude to all of you – our visitors and friends – for your continued support and kind words during this difficult time. Your love for this region is felt deeply, and we know that together, we will rebuild stronger than ever.

While we are still in the recovery phase, we are quickly moving forward with plans to restore and revitalize these special places. If you feel moved to help us bring our towns back sooner, please consider supporting our efforts by visiting RutherfordBound.com. Every gesture of support helps bring us one step closer to reopening these beloved destinations for everyone to enjoy once again.

Thank you for standing with us. We look forward to welcoming you back with open arms in the near future. đź’š
