The Rutland Fire Department is looking for cars, pickups, or vans to use for our yearly auto extrication training/recertification. We will be cutting these vehicles apart and they will be salvaged afterwards. If you have a junk vehicle that you want off of your property within a reasonable distance we will come and get it.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us for supper last night and those that sent donations in the mail. It is humbling to see the support that our small towns and surrounding communities have for our department. We were able to get a very good price on some next to new battery operated Jaws of Life tools including a cutter and a spreader. Your donations made it possible for us to purchase them. These tools will help cut extrication times down and save lives in the event of an automobile accident. Thank you all again and we'll see you at the pancake breakfast in December.

With no recent rainfall Sargent and surrounding county's are still in a very high fire danger index. With the expected high winds this afternoon we will be in a red flag warning so no burning unless its a pellet grill or smoker. If you are using one of those please call us to come supervise....and taste test.

With the high winds, high temps, and low humidity today we are under a red flag warning. Please refer to the photo for types of burning that is not allowed and the website where you can check the daily fire danger rating. While your local hometown fire department is always happy to help, today isn't a good day for us. Thank you in advance for leaving your matches, lighters, and torches at home today.
