The Rutland Regional Planning Commission provides expertise on land use planning and bylaws, transportation planning, emergency management, energy projects, economic development, housing, and brownfield redevelopment. The RRPC is known for its extensive Geographic Information System and mapping program. The Commission is overseen by representatives chosen by the Selectboard (or Board of Aldermen) of every community.

Shrewsbury has developed a draft goal and actions to mitigate the impacts of natural hazards in the Town.

Public Notice - Pittsford Engaged in Hazard Mitigation Planning

The Town of Pittsford is updating its 2021 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan! The Plan serves as a guidebook for identifying and addressing local risks and vulnerabilities, helping Pittsford become more resilient to natural hazards.

For the month of August, we want to hear from Pittsford residents about what natural hazards you are most concerned about! Share your feedback by taking our online survey at https://tinyurl.com/pittsford-lhmp27-survey.

Paper copies are also available at the Town Office and Maclure Library and must be submitted to the Town Manager by Friday, August 21. Also keep an eye out for our pop-up table at Pittsford Day on Saturday, August 1st to let us know your priorities with colorful stickers!

Wallingford residents: the working draft of the 2026 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan is available for your review!

From July 20 to August 3, submit any comments you may have regarding the 2026 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan update to [email protected] or [email protected]. You may also attend the August 3, 2026 Selectboard meeting at the Town Hall to provide your feedback in person.

You’re invited to a three-part public training series focused on reducing stormwater runoff and protecting our local water quality!

The Rutland Regional Planning Commission invites property owners, municipal officials, and community members to participate in a three-part Roundtable training series. This program will highlight three statewide programs that promote practical, cost-effective strategies for reducing stormwater runoff and limiting the flow of harmful pollutants into Vermont’s watersheds.

We are excited to announce that the 2025 Benson Local Hazard Mitigation Plan is finally live! The Plan received formal approval from FEMA on June 2, 2026, and will remain effective until June 1, 2031. You can access the FEMA-approved Plan at https://tinyurl.com/Benson-LHMP25 until June 30, 2026.

After this date, the project page will be retired, and the Plan will be housed at the Town Office and on the RRPC website, https://www.rutlandrpc.org/town/benson/
