Public Notice - Wallingford Engaged in Hazard Mitigation Planning
The Town of Wallingford is updating its 2021 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan!

The Plan serves as a guidebook for identifying and addressing local risks and vulnerabilities, helping Wallingford become more resilient to natural hazards. For the month of May, we want to hear from our residents about what natural hazards you are most concerned about! Share your feedback by taking our online survey at https://tinyurl.com/wallingford-lhmp26-survey.

Paper copies are also available at the Town Hall and Gilbert Hart Library and must be submitted to the Town Clerk by June 1, 2026.

The Town will also be doing a "pop-up" event on May 16 (May 30 rain date), so keep an eye out for posters in the Wallingford Village Center and let us know your priorities with colorful stickers! To learn more about the process and opportunities to participate, visit https://tinyurl.com/wallingford-lhmp26

Brandon: A Hub & Our Home

Brandon community members are invited to join a free community dinner and discussion on local topics on Thursday, April 30 from 4:30-8:30pm at the Otter Valley Middle & High School.

You can share your ideas about infrastructure, affordability, housing and jobs, public safety, education, community services and more. All are welcome to join the “Brandon: A Hub & Our Home” 3-step process: residents, students, families, and anyone who works in town, owns a business, or cares about the future of the community. We will offer childcare, and you can find help getting a ride or other accessibility needs on the flier or the website bit.ly/BrandonOurHome.

Steps 2 and 3 of “Brandon: A Hub & Our Home” will be held May 27 at the Town Hall and June 25 (location TBD) to decide top priorities and build action plans. These events are hosted by the Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD), an independent nonprofit that has worked with more than 90 towns in Vermont. Contact Alyssa at [email protected] or 802-222-6896 to learn more.
