📣 RCPCC Is Looking for Pediatric Providers!

RCPCC is looking to collaborate with pediatric Physical Therapists (PTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs)** to support the growing needs of children and families in our community. 💙

There is a significant need for pediatric therapy providers and we are looking to build strong partnerships with providers who are interested in serving young children through our Children’s Integrated Services (CIS) program.

Our team works closely with families and providers to ensure children receive the developmental support and services they need during these important early years. Strong provider collaboration is an important part of helping families access timely, quality services.

If you are a pediatric PT, OT, or SLP, or know a provider who may be interested in partnering with RCPCC we would love to connect!

✨️✨️Staff shoutout! ✨️✨️

There are many faces you see around, but there is one so elusive, that even we rarely get a glimpse of his awesomeness!

Matt is our evening cleaner. He comes after we have all gone, and vanishes before we return. But he does not go unnoticed. Staff are so appreciative for how much he does, and leaves everything as good as new the next day. Anything we need, he steps up to the challenge.

Except bears. And that's completely fair. 🐻

Did you know that for children 0–3 years old, play is one of the most important ways they learn? 💛 Children don’t need fancy toys, expensive activities, or a room full of toys to learn and grow. Everyday moments and everyday objects can become opportunities for play, exploration, and learning!

Through play, young children are building important skills like:

🧠 Problem-solving and thinking
🗣️ Language and communication
🤲 Fine and gross motor skills
❤️ Social-emotional skills
👀 Attention and observation
✨ Creativity and imagination

You can find learning opportunities EVERYWHERE!

🏠 Around the house:
• Pots, pans, and wooden spoons for banging, stirring, and pretend cooking
• Cardboard boxes for forts, tunnels, or pretend cars
• Plastic containers for stacking, filling, and dumping
• Laundry baskets for pushing, pulling, or climbing in and out
• Towels or blankets for peek-a-boo, forts, or pretend play
• Empty food containers for pretend grocery shopping or cooking
• Measuring cups for pouring and scooping during bath time

🌳 Outside:
• Sticks for drawing in the dirt
• Rocks for sorting, counting, or building
• Leaves for collecting and comparing
• Pinecones for pretend cooking or stacking
• Water for pouring, scooping, and splashing
• Mud and dirt for digging and making pretend food
• Grass, hills, and playgrounds for running, climbing, jumping, and exploring

The most important thing isn't what your child is playing with—it’s the opportunity to explore, try things, make choices, and interact with you.

Have you heard about our Welcome Baby program?? Welcome Baby provides information and connection to resources to families in Rutland County who welcome new little ones.

We distribute packets full of useful information on:
-infant health, safety and child development
-events and activities in our county
-accessing affordable childcare
-food resources
-all of RCPCC’s programs
-& more!!

The packets are available in English and Spanish.

We also offer Welcome Baby Bags, which are filled with gifts and essential baby items, available by request. Many of the gifts we include are handmade by local crafters and we are so grateful for their donations. We are currently working to grow Welcome Baby so that we can better serve growing families. If you or someone you know loves to crochet, knit, sew or would like to contribute in another way–we’d love to connect! (Email [email protected].)

Our goal is to reach every Rutland County family who welcomes a new child, making sure every single family is well-informed and feels supported by their community.

Looking for a quick and easy meal on these hot summer nights?

Did you know how easy it is to make a bean burger ?

Find a can of your favorite beans , drain and mash them (to whatever consistency you prefer), and just add salt and pepper (or whatever spices you prefer), and thicken until you can form into patties. There are lots of everyday food items you can use to thicken, including four , cornstarch, breadcrumbs , oats , or cornflakes.

Once patties are formed , heat whatever oil you have in a pan and cook 4-5 minutes on each side , until browned and crisp. Serve and enjoy!

Did you know beans are an excellent plant based protein source , and also packed with essential vitamins and minerals including iron, magnesium , and folate . They can also improve your heart health by helping to lower cholesterol!
