( ROAD CLOSURE )

Due to flood damage on 07/22/2026 the bridge on Byran Rd and the bridge on Old Blue Springs Rd at Rutledge Pike will be closed. Both bridges are damaged and are unsafe to travel on and my be closed for a few months.

We are now accepting applications for a full time police officer. Applicants must be a P.O.S.T. certified officer and have at least 3 years prior experience. Benefits include TCRS Retirement, State Insurance and depending on where you live a take home car. Starting pay is $23.25 a hour with a .50 cent increase after 6 months. The position that is open is Nights-12 hour shifts.

It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Patrolman John David Holland. John passed away at Fort Sanders Hospital on 04/02/2026 after having a triple bypass. John had been in emergency service for over 30 years in Jefferson County and came to work with the Rutledge Police Department last April. We ask for prayers for his family and children. Ptl. John David Holland will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
