Congratulations to Joey on an incredible run at this year’s Scripps National Spelling Bee!

After winning the DCIU Regional Spelling Bee in February, Joey represented Delaware County on the national stage this week, tying for 25th place in the country and finishing as Pennsylvania’s top-ranked speller. We are so proud of this outstanding accomplishment!

📚 There are a few spots still open! Help your child avoid the “summer slide” and strengthen their reading skills this summer.

DCIU’s Summer Literacy Camp is designed to support incoming 1st–3rd grade students in public and nonpublic schools who are currently reading below grade level.

Through small-group instruction, engaging activities, interactive games, movement breaks, and support from skilled reading interventionists, students will build receptive and expressive language skills while gaining confidence and working toward grade-level readiness for the fall. 🍎✨

This week during Mental Health Awareness Month, we are focusing on small steps that can make a big impact on mental health.

Small actions such as getting enough rest, talking with trusted people, showing kindness, and taking breaks when needed, can make a big difference. Let’s continue supporting one another and creating a community where everyone feels valued and connected.

As Mental Health Acceptance Month comes to a close, remember that caring for mental health is important all year long.

“Delco Together. Every Mind Matters.” — because when we come together, we create a stronger, more supportive community for everyone.
