🐦 Two weeks left to take advantage of early-bird registration rates for SSC’s 16th annual Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals! These rates run until 3/15!

🏃 Plan to join us Saturday, April 19th, for a 5k through our beautiful seaside setting in Odiorne Point State Park. The event is presented by Meredith Village Savings Bank and features a 5k run or walk, kids fun runs, raffles, and a beach cleanup with Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation. All proceeds benefit SSC Marine Mammal Rescue.

This Friday, February 21st from 4-6 pm, come along with us to uncover the secrets of spotting animal life, using the clues they leave on the landscape. Inside there will be fun, hands-on activities to discover the different walking patterns of various critters, create your own s**t, and trace your own tracks. At 5 pm, we'll embark on an adventure in Odiorne Point State Park with SSC's naturalists, and you'll have a chance to spot wildlife tracks and learn about the animals that call the Park home!

We will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the Indigenous People’s/Columbus Day holiday weekend from 10AM–4PM. Planning a visit? Join our History Naturalist for a one-mile walk through Odiorne Point State Park to learn about the origins of Rye, from N’dakinna and the local Indigenous communities who first inhabited this seacoast region to the first European settlement of this point.

Walks will be held on Saturday, 10/12 and Monday, 10/14 both at 11AM. This visitor program is free with admission to SSC, and best for ages 12 and up. www.seacoastsciencecenter.org/visit

There's so much happening this week at Seacoast Science Center and we hope to see you along our rocky shore in Odiorne Point State Park.

Thursday at our preschool program we'll explore all things fall. Then Friday evening, during our FREE monthly nature program, sponsored by Eversource NH, we'll go on a mini-blitz looking for some fascinating species. On Saturday, we'll cap off the week with our annual, all-day community nature event, BioBlitz! There will be lots of exploration, discovery and learning and we can't wait to see what we find together! Head out with SSC's naturalists this Sunday, 7/7 from 11AM to 12:30pm to explore Odiorne Point State Park and see how many habitats you find. Compare and contrast the species found on rocky shores and sandy beaches, forests and open fields using tools like quadrats, field guides, and more. It’s officially summer! We are celebrating the summer solstice at SSC with all things bugs and bats. Join us this Friday, June 21st from 4–6pm for our FREE Nature@Nite program for an evening of fun activities such as visiting a bug zoo, building bug hotels, playing bug bingo, and learning about our native bat species. UNH Extension will host the 5pm guided bat presentation and walk in Odiorne Point State Park. 🦇🐜🦗🕷
