The Rye Firefighters would like to congratulate Probationary Firefighter Jeffrey Fernandes and the rest of class 01-2026 who graduated the Westchester County Career Chiefs Fire Academy earlier this morning. Jeffrey had the honor of receiving his diploma from his father, who is retired from the Rye Fire Department. We wish him and his classmates the best for a happy, healthy and safe career. Congrats to all!

Today and everyday, we remember the life of Career Firefighter Joseph Pasquale, who died in the line of duty on this day 52 years ago. FF Pasquale started working for the Rye Fire Department in July of 1961

The Rye Fire Department would like to welcome Jeffrey Fernandes who was sworn in earlier this morning at a small ceremony at city hall. Jeffrey is the junior of retired Rye Firefighter Jeff Fernandes. Probationary Firefighter Fernandes will begin in house training before starting the Westchester Career Chiefs Fire Academy next week. We wish Jeff the best for a long and healthy career serving the City of Rye. With the hiring of PFF Fernandes, the Department in conjunction with the City, is taking another step forwards towards increasing staffing levels.
