👋 Meet Alayna!

Alayna Thomas is one of the dedicated faces behind Gila River Employment & Training! She began with E&T as an Intake Receptionist and has grown into her current role as a Grant Compliance Specialist.

In her role, Alayna helps monitor participant files and ensures our programs remain in compliance with state and federal policies, important work that helps keep our services running strong for the Community.

We’re excited to continue introducing you to the people behind E&T and the work they do every day. 🧡

🍂 A new season, and a full-circle moment for E&T!

We had the opportunity to see two of our former and current Adult Program participants in action this morning as they stopped by to support the Employment & Training team!

Tyler and Kaleb both began their journeys with E&T as adult participants, and today they’re building careers right here within the Gila River Indian Community. Tyler is now working with the Community’s IT team, while Kaleb is currently interning with IT as he continues his graduate studies at ASU in artificial intelligence.

One of our favorite moments was seeing Tyler share his knowledge and help guide Kaleb through the work, one former adult participant helping another as they continue growing in their careers. 💻

Our programs are about more than preparing for the next opportunity. They’re about building skills, creating pathways, and watching our participants grow into professionals who give back to their Community.

As we welcome a new season, we’re proud to see where their paths have taken them and excited for everything still ahead. 🍂

From adult participants to Community professionals, this is what workforce development looks like.

Meet Sarah! 👋🏼

Sarah is our Grant Compliance Specialist here at Gila River Employment & Training, and her journey with E&T actually began as a WIOA participant! 💛

Today, she helps support the programs that once supported her by monitoring program data, reviewing participant files, and helping keep our grant programs on track.

And if you’ve been around E&T on a Wednesday, you may also know Sarah as the creative mind behind our Wellness Wednesdays! 🌱 We’ve genuinely enjoyed seeing what she comes up with, from a relaxing Comfort Foods theme to this month’s football-themed Financial Reset. 🏈💰 It’s become such a fun way for our team to connect, reset and boost office morale.

Sarah’s heart and Community pride are rooted in District 5, Bapchule, and her goal is to continue learning, serving and advocating for positive change within her Community.

We love having Sarah on the E&T team and we especially love that her story has come full circle from WIOA participant to serving within Employment & Training. 💼💻
