In the weeks since Hurricane Harvey slammed into the Texas Gulf Coast and dumped a record-setting amount of rain on cities stretching from Corpus Christi to Houston to Port Arthur, the humanitarian response has...

Jaw-dropping images show WAVES rolling over Texas highway after Harvey

The effects of Tropical Storm Harvey are made horrifyingly clear in these startling images, taken on the I-10 between Houston and Beaumont, close to Winnie. Waves roll over several feet of floodwater.

This happen just a little bit ago in Beaumont. A CNN reporter is in a live shot when a truck drives into, what is later described as looking like a road. He and the CNN crew run to the floating truck and save a man from the waters.

As the sun comes up in Houston, the images are terrifying. In some areas it's being reported as much as 20" of rain over night. The Weather Channel is predicting another 40" for Harris County.

PLEASE SHARE WITH OUR COMMUNITY.

Many in our community feel helpless in the face of this current disaster.

I've volunteered to coordinate an army of Sachse Texans who are willing to help. My name is Stephanie French I've been tasked to find those people who are willing to donate, and volunteer their time in this city wide effort. The city is currently coordinating efforts to help with supplies for the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center hurricane evacuees. Big wheels are turning and you can be a part of making a big difference in the lives of those fellow Texans who have lost everything and are now coming to an unfamiliar city for an undetermined period of time.

If you want to be a part and make a real impact please contact me in the comments or FB message. If you'd like to talk please FB message me and I'll get you my cell number. If you know my cell already, text me.

Please, DO NOT CALL THE CITY and jam up the phone lines for drop off location. All of that is in process and will be released shortly.

We want to maximize our effort so let me know your level of willingness to either donate supplies or time sorting , packing emergency kits, in this city wide effort.

I am actually a resident of Houston who left Thursday to escape the storm. I'm staying here in Sachse until the 5th for family reason and would love to help out. I also came home in my little suv with nothing but the clothes on my pack and would not mine bringing as much items as I can back to Houston. Thanks so much the city of Houston definitely needs it.
