As we near the end of the school year, Field Day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate their hard work, create lasting memories, and enjoy time together outside the classroom. While the day is certainly about having fun, it is also about teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and building connections with one another.
A huge thank you goes out to our incredible S**o Middle School staff for their hard work and flexibility in supporting students during a day that looks very different from a typical school day. From creating themed groups, illustrating Lemonade stand signs, making tee-shirts, arriving early to help set up events, supervising activities throughout the day, setting up microphones and music, providing band-aids, taking drone photos, delivering full The Home Depot buckets of water across campus, and ensuring everything ran smoothly, their commitment to our students is so appreciated.
We would also like to sincerely thank our S**o Middle School PTO for their continued partnership and support. With the heat and humidity, the beverages and delicious snacks were greatly appreciated and helped make the day even more special. In addition S**o Parks & Recreation Department for assisting with set-up, especially the bounce house!
And of course, a special shoutout to those highly competitive staff members who bravely volunteered to take on some of our 8th graders in the Lemonade Stand Showdown to close out the day. You not only did a great job competing, but demonstrated impressive active listening skills, as one staff member put it, to way too many directions!
Thank you to everyone who helped make Field Day such a positive experience. School is not only about learning academics. It's about building community, strengthening relationships, and creating positive memories that students will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
