St. Hope Public School 7 (PS7)

St. Hope Public School 7 (PS7) PS7 is made of up two schools - PS7 Elementary & PS7 Middle School. PS7 is a part of St. HOPE Public Schools. Since 2003 St. St.

PS7 Elementary serves students in TK-5th grades, and PS7 Middle serves students in 6th-8th grades. HOPE Public Schools has passionately worked toward the mission of graduating self-motivated, industrious and critical thinking leaders who are committed to serving others, passionate about lifelong learning and prepared to earn a degree from a four-year college. HOPE Public Schools includes three charter schools: PS7 Elementary School, PS7 Middle School, and Sacramento Charter High School located in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. We’ve raised the bar and our schools are producing extraordinary results with closing the achievement gap and helping our scholars reach their fullest potential. A few examples of how our model is succeeding include:
-PS7 and Sacramento Charter High School were named California Education Champions by the National Action Network for being 2 of 16 predominantly African American schools that performed in the top 25% of all schools in California, and each scored a 10/10 when compared to similar schools. For context, this year there were a total of 90 predominantly African American schools in California, of which 70 performed in the bottom 25% of all schools.
-PS7 has twice been named a Title 1 Achievement Award winner, and has been recognized as a California Distinguished School and as a federal Blue Ribbon School nominee for its educational outcomes with low-income students.

That’s exactly what Jimmy Brown is excited to do as a Student Aide at PS7 Middle. With a background working with young people and a strong connection to St. HOPE’s Five Pillars, Jimmy is ready to be an asset to both students and staff this year.

For him, it’s about teamwork, growth, and representing the values he believes in every single day.

Muirae Gomez’s St. HOPE journey started as a student at PS7 Middle and Sac High. After graduating in 2019, she knew she wanted to return to the community that gave her such a positive experience.

Now, as an Education Specialist at PS7 Elementary, Muirae gets to give back, build relationships, and make an impact on the next generation of St. HOPE scholars.

We love seeing the St. HOPE story come full circle. ✨

After 13 years with St. HOPE Public Schools, Lesley Ezero is stepping into an exciting new chapter at PS7 Elementary. 💜

As both a teacher and instructional coach, Lesley is bringing years of experience across elementary, middle, and high school back into the classroom — along with a deep belief in the power of high expectations.

For Lesley, high expectations aren’t just something we ask of students. They start with ourselves, shape how we support families, and influence every opportunity we create for kids to grow.

We’re so excited to welcome her back to the elementary classroom and see the impact she’ll make this year at PS7. ✨

After three years at PS7, growing from after-school team lead to TA and now classroom teacher, this year marks an exciting new chapter centered on investing deeply in students and helping them see what they’re capable of.

By setting clear, achievable goals, keeping families connected to student progress, and creating a classroom where kids feel safe, supported, and confident, the focus stays exactly where it should be: helping every student grow.

For Coach Wiggins, serving St. HOPE is personal. 💜

Growing up in South Sacramento, he understands many of the experiences our students are navigating because he once walked in similar shoes. Now, he gets to bring that perspective back home as an educator and help create more opportunities for the next generation.

With sixth grade now added at PS7 Elementary and continued growth across the school, Coach Wiggins is excited to keep building on the progress already happening and play a part in something even bigger for our students, families, and community.

Over the past year, our youngest scholars have built the foundation for a lifetime of learning. They’ve discovered new skills, grown in confidence, formed lasting friendships, and embraced every opportunity to learn, explore, and grow. Now, they’re ready for their next big adventure: first grade!

They’re promoting to first grade with big dreams, bright futures, and an entire school community cheering them on every step of the way.
