Our Emergency Family Shelter is the only shelter in Sacramento County that allows any type of family composition to stay in our shelter, whether it'd be grandparents with custody of grandkids or single fathers. Everytime we ensure their unit is ready with new bedding and hygiene for the family. With your donation of just $150 we can set a room for a family of four with everything they need to get started in their path to stability. Donate today!

Dino and his Case Manager, Alicia, have been working together for quite some time, staying committed to his goals every step of the way. With determination and consistency, Dino never lost sight of what he was working toward. Once Housing Specialist Melissa joined the team, the trio came together and were able to achieve his final goal: housing.

From the moment they arrived at Mather, they got right to work, showing determination, focus, and a commitment to changing their situation. Because of their drive, they were able to secure housing quickly and begin a brand new chapter.

A day we will never forget. ❤️

For over three years, Tina has been without a place to call home. She has faced uncertainty, instability, and moments where the future felt overwhelming. But this week, that chapter has officially closed. Tina has moved into her very own apartment.

When she received her keys, she broke down in tears, not from sadness, but from overwhelming gratitude. After everything she has endured, this moment meant more than words can fully capture. As she stood in her Housing Specialist's office, she said, “I haven't had anywhere to call my own in 3 years, and now, I have keys to my own apartment. I never thought that was gonna happen for me!”

This is what perseverance looks like. This is what hope looks like. This is what happens when someone refuses to give up, and when a team surrounds them with consistent support and belief.

Pictured is her Housing Specialist, Melissa, who has walked alongside Tina through this journey. Not pictured, but equally instrumental, are her Case Manager, Gustavo, and her Community Worker, Freedom, who have remained by her side every step of the way.

Today, Tina doesn’t just have an apartment. She has stability. She has safety. She has a fresh start.
