🍎 Teacher Feature: Meet Mr. Trejo!
Mr. Trejo is excited to teach 7th grade this upcoming school year! His Spider-Man and science-themed classroom is a space where students’ artwork, projects, ideas, and voices are celebrated.
One of Mr. Trejo’s favorite classroom traditions is Thursday Reading. Each year, students vote on a book, and he reads it aloud during their Thursday community block. He also keeps students engaged through group discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and scientific debates.
Above all, Mr. Trejo hopes every student learns how to persevere through challenges and “struggle productively,” both academically and personally.
Outside the classroom, you might find him bouldering, enjoying yerba mate and Ritz crackers, or reading Pedagogy of the Oppressed or Flowers for Algernon.
His advice for parents is simple: Ask your child about their day, what they learned, and encourage them to teach it back to you!
