1. What is one goal you have for Stonewall Dems that you hope is accomplished?
One goal I want to accomplish for Stonewall Dems is to ensure we are endorsing individuals who are q***r and who are not only supportive but have invested their time, energy, and resources to the q***r community.
2. What is something people wouldn’t know just by looking at you?
I am a big nerd at heart. I love Star Wars and LotR ( Padme and Arwen for the win.) I also listen to Bardcore and love the recomposition of modern music. Also, a horror ju**ie where I know how to be the final girl.
3. What political issue do you wish got more attention?
One issue I wish received more attention would be the federal government’s attack on PEPFAR funding, which funds HIV related programs to other countries. I believe it’s a travesty that the current administration has efforts to reduce and restructure PEPFAR funding. For more than two decades, PEPFAR has been one of the world’s most successful global health initiatives, providing HIV prevention, treatment, and care in countries with limited healthcare resources. Weakening this program threatens to reverse decades of progress and leaves millions of people in vulnerable communities at greater risk.
4. What’s a moment in your life you’ll never forget?
The moment I’ll never forget was being diagnosed with HIV three years ago. As someone who had been an advocate in q***r spaces, the diagnosis came as a shock and changed my perspective on life. It inspired me to live boldly, create a bucket list, and stop putting things off. Today, I’m healthy, undetectable, and committed to challenging the stigma surrounding people living with HIV while showing that a diagnosis does not define a person’s future.
