Giving back to our community is something we're incredibly proud of at AMR Sacramento Valley. Recently, team members from the Sacramento Valley (Placer, Yolo, Colusa, Sacramento, SACCOM, and FG) came together to volunteer at The Gathering Inn, supporting individuals in need throughout our community, This meaningful opportunity brought together Operations, Communications, and Leadership, all working side by side for a common purpose.
We're proud of the time, compassion, and heart our teams continue to bring, not only in the work we do every day, but in the communities we serve. This is what teamwork, service, and community truly look like 🚑

The holiday season is the most dangerous time of year for cardiac emergencies. Stress, cold
weather and seasonal indulgence increase strain on the heart, with Christmas Eve seeing a significant rise in heart-related incidents.

Heart symptoms are often ignored to avoid disrupting holiday gatherings, but delaying care can be life threatening. Symptoms may be subtle and should always be taken seriously.

Call 911 immediately if you or someone near you experiences any of the following.

• Chest discomfort or pressure
• Shortness of breath
• Nausea or lightheadedness
• Racing or irregular heartbeat
• Sudden collapse or unresponsiveness

If a person collapses, begin CPR and use an AED if available until help arrives. Early action can
significantly improve survival.

Do not wait and do not drive yourself. When in doubt, call 911 at the first sign of heart trouble and encourage loved ones to do the same.

We want to recognize the incredible teamwork and dedication that led to a positive outcome saving a life during the California International Marathon event on Sunday, December 7th. This success was made possible by the quick actions of bystanders starting CPR, as well as the coordinated efforts of Arianna Lancellotti, Nate Bronner, and Jack Bishop, who worked together to restore pulses and ensure advanced care was promptly delivered.

This achievement also reflects the extensive planning and preparation carried out with the California International Marathon team — Scott Abbott, Jenny Matchell, Alex Morrison, Jeff Benach, and their entire crew — in coordination with the onsite Sutter Medical team, AMR crews and our onsite dispatchers Ryan Krammer and Justin Wright, Tad Suwa with the Sac City Fire Department team, Metro Fire Department, Folsom Fire Department, CHP, Sacramento Sheriff’s Office, and Sacramento Police Department.

This incident is a powerful reminder of how every link in the chain of survival plays a critical role. Amazing work, team!

Over the past two days AMR and Davis Fire Department have been working side by side on a mass casualty incident drill. This drill simulated a vehicle accident with a total of ten patients with varying levels of injury. Collaboratively our crews worked together to estabkish a structured incident command system, and effectively and efficiently triage, treat, and transport patients.

At the end of the day there were a lot of lessons learned and best practices establish between our organizations. Having these types of opportunities for joint training is incredibly valuable. Thank you Davis Fire for allowing us to be part of this drill.

Great job everyone!
