Building the US’s first 200+mph & 100% renewably powered high-speed rail.

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) is responsible for planning, designing, building and operation of the first high-speed rail system in the nation. California high-speed rail will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands. By 2033, the system will run from San Fra

ncisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of over 200 miles per hour. The system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations. In addition, the Authority is working with regional partners to implement a state-wide rail modernization plan that will invest billions of dollars in local and regional rail lines to meet the state’s 21st century transportation needs.

This week, 20 more students completed the Central Valley Training Center’s pre-apprenticeship program at a graduation ceremony the city of Selma! 🎉🎓

These graduates are leaving with nearly a dozen certifications ready for a career in the construction trades and we can’t wait to see them on the high-speed rail construction site soon! Congratulations, cohort 22!

✨ Construction Tour: Mineta Summer Transportation Academy

The Authority recently welcomed high school students from MiSTA for a presentation, Q&A with engineers on the project, and tour of high-speed rail construction! Students had the opportunity to visit the:
✅ Southern Pacific Railroad Depot (the future Fresno high-speed rail station)
✅ Tulare St. Underpass & Grade Separation in Downtown Fresno
✅ San Joaquin River Viaduct in North Fresno

Overall, the trip allowed students to get information about careers in transportation, check out some of the massive structures already built in the Central Valley, and learn more about the statewide high-speed rail project! Thanks for joining us!

The Authority is proud to announce the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the High Desert Corridor Joint Powers Agency. High Desert Corridor Intercity High Speed Rail Project (HDC JPA) that deepens coordination on environmental clearances, station integration, and design, particularly at the Palmdale Station.

Yesterday, nearly 100 industry professionals and small business representatives joined us in Sacramento at the Merced to Madera (M2M) Pre-Bid Conference to learn more about the recently issued Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to procure Collaborative Design-Build Services for Merced to Madera Civil Works. 🤝

The Authority intends to procure pre-award design development and subsequent design and construction services for approximately 30.3 miles of new high-speed rail guideway extending from Merced to the southern project interface at Construction Package 1 in Madera County.
