The Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is the Sacramento region’s largest sewage collection, treatment, and resource recovery utility–providing service to over 1.6 million people. The Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) provides local sewage collection services to more than one million people in the Sacramento region, including the unincorporated Sacramento County; the cities of Citru

s Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Sacramento, and West Sacramento; and the communities of Courtland, Locke, and Walnut Grove. SacSewer owns and operates over 5,000 miles of lower lateral and main line sewer pipes, as well as 117 pump stations. We are responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of these sewer pipes and pump stations. SACSEWER BY THE NUMB3RS

Our sewage collection system is comprised of a vast, complex grid of more than 5,000 miles of underground sewer pipes and 117 pump stations. That’s enough sewer pipe to stretch from Sacramento to Miami—and then some.

🚨 Flushable wipes are not flushable.

Despite the label, wipes can cause severe blockages in the sewer system, leading to costly backups that may even reach homes.

Help protect our sewer system by remembering one simple rule:
✅ Flush only human waste and toilet paper.

Small actions make a big difference in keeping our community's sewer system flowing properly.
