🚨 Heads up, travelers! If you see emergency vehicles and activity at SMF Wednesday morning, don’t be alarmed, it’s just a drill.

From 9:30–11 a.m., SMF will be conducting our required triennial full-scale emergency response exercise. You may see what looks like an emergency response outside the airport, but it’s all part of a planned training exercise.

No need to worry, our teams are just practicing so they’re ready when it matters. ✈️

✂️🎉 Three local favorites, officially open in Terminal B!

Today we celebrated the opening of Bawk! by Urban Roots, Nixtaco and Temple Coffee with a ribbon cutting at SMF! ✈️

The celebration included remarks from Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna, SMF Director of Airports Cindy Nichol, Jessica Robinson, Director of Retail Operations and Project Development for Temple Coffee, Rob Archie, founder of Bawk!, and Patricio Wise, chef and owner of Nixtaco.

Together with our partners at High Flying Foods, we’re proud to bring even more local flavor to SMF and showcase some of the people and businesses that make the Sacramento region special.

And we can’t forget the amazing balloon display from another local favorite, Lush Balloons, which made the celebration even more festive! 🎈

Next time you’re flying through Terminal B, come hungry. 💙✈️

Not because you lost track of time.

Because, for a few minutes...

you forgot airports are supposed to be stressful.

You found a window seat.
Watched planes come and go.
Picked up one more snack you didn't need.
Texted, "We're already through security."

It's a small thing.

Until you fly somewhere else and remember...

Oh yeah. This is why I fly out of SMF.
