🖤🤱🏾 Celebrating Black Breastfeeding Week!

In honor of Black Breastfeeding Week and this year’s theme, “We All We Got,” CRP WIC and BreastFriends came together for a fun and supportive afternoon where breastfeeding moms could connect, share, and celebrate their journeys.

Our very own WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Natasha Anderson and BreastFriend's Renee Alton facilitated “Boobs & Brushes,” a creative canvas-bag painting activity where moms shared their breastfeeding experiences, challenges, successes, and words of encouragement.

And, of course, we enjoyed healthy snacks and beverages featuring new WIC foods!
Black Breastfeeding Week takes place August 25–31 during National Breastfeeding Month. It was established to bring greater attention to racial disparities in breastfeeding and infant health, the lack of diversity within the lactation field, and the cultural and systemic barriers that can affect Black families.

The 2026 theme, “We All We Got: 14 Years of Community, Care, and Collective Power,” highlights something that can make a meaningful difference throughout the breastfeeding journey: having a strong circle of support.

Community. Connection. Support. We all we got! 🖤🤎
