• operating public health programs nationwide to meet the needs of diverse, underserved communities

• working proactively and collaboratively to ensure individuals are empowered to live a healthy

life;

• representing diverse staff, community partners and stakeholders to better serve communities who otherwise do not have a voice for care, or access to healthy environments

Health starts with understanding your numbers and knowing you have the power to improve them.

A big thank you to Samuel Merritt University for completing their second round of drop-in health screenings with us yesterday. It’s been wonderful welcoming community members into our space and connecting them with nursing students who offer blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.

These visits go beyond numbers; when results are outside the normal range, students help residents understand what they mean and explore simple, practical ways to support their overall health and well-being moving forward.
