It is with profound sadness that Engine Company One and the Saddle Brook Fire Department announce the passing of Firefighter Joe Schilp. Joe’s passion and commitment to Engine One and the Department are immeasurable.

Over the past 54 years, Joe served in many capacities, serving on numerous committees, Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain and Battalion Chief.
He is the current President of both Engine Co #1 and the Department. He is also known to many as Santa.

Joe cherished his family and was known for his love of cars, aviation and tinkering with everything and anything that needed to be repaired.

We will miss his leadership, friendship and brotherhood. May he Rest In Peace.

We will take it from here Brother

This day provides us with space to reflect on courage, on service freely given without expectation, and on lives lost while protecting others.

A life lived in service of others is never forgotten.
