The 2025 Firematic Officers of Engjne Co. 2 were sworn in last night along with the Chief and Assistant Chief of the department during the Annual Saddle Brook Fire Department Installation Dinner.

It is with great pleasure we announce that Engine Co. 2 Firefighter Jonathan Kravitz has graduated Basic Military Training and is now an Airman in the United States Air Force. Jonathan finished in the top 10%, earning the Honor Graduate Ribbon. During this 7.5 week program, Jonathan learned the necessary skills to become an Airman and participated in the band. He will be transferring to Sheppard Air Force Base for technical school to become an aircraft maintainer. Upon completion, he will be transferred to a permanent duty station. Jonathan would like to thank the members of the Saddle Brook Fire Department for their continued support and wishes them all a safe and prosperous year.

Jolly Ole St Nick is making his once a year Christmas visit to the township to come and visit all the good boys and girls today. That’s right we have it on good authority that Santa Claus himself will be in the Southside later this evening. Look for the members of Engine 2 to be guiding his sleigh tonight and helping his elves. Santa Claus should be arriving from the North Pole around 5pm.

SBFD Engine Co #2 2024 Christmas party. It was a great night with a large crowd of E-2 family!!! Thank you to everyone for coming. And a special thank you to the family of our deceased brother Ex Battalion Chief Roy DeJulia for the lovely gift. It was great to have you all here. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. All members of the Saddle Brook, Fair Lawn, and Garfield Fire Departments arrived home safe this morning to their respective towns at 7:30 am after an an 8 hour operational period during the overnight hours at the Craigmuer Wild Fire in northwestern Morris County

Firefighter Roy DeJulia’s Arrangements

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30th from 5pm to 9pm at the Kugler Community Home For Funerals (311 N 5th St, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663).
Fire Department Services will be conducted at 7pm

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 31st at 10:30am at the Church of Saint Anne (15-05 St. Anne St Fair Lawn, NJ 07410) burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park (234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652).

All the volunteer fire departments in the country need help. We’ve heard all the excuses. I can’t commit to (fill in the blank), I’m not always available, I’m too young/old, I don’t know anything about it. They are just excuses. We are all volunteers. We can when we can and we can’t when we can’t.

This is an incredible job you get paid for in ways that aren’t money. If you’ve ever thought about it, come on down to the firehouse and say Hi. The hardest part, is walking through that house doors the first time.

We all live in the communities we serve. How can you make a difference?

Every fire department across the country needs help. Come be a part of the excitement. And make some great friends that are like family while you’re at it.

Stop down at a firehouse on Tuesdays around 7pm.
