So, some folks believe the current Federal Administrations decision to defund all Environmental Protection Departments and let Businesses go about their activities without any oversight or Regulation at all is a good thing. Those folks did not live with the air and water quality issues of the 70’s. I suppose ignorance is bliss until One discovers they cannot escape a bad situation and the money immediately saved or made just not be worth it.
I would like them to watch the designated “Crisis Situation” situation unfolding right now in real time in Garden Grove, Ca as the failed storage tanks with toxic chemicals at GKN Aerospace are forcing the evacuation of 40,000 people from their homes (6000 have refused). The worst tank will either collapse or explode without warning at any moment. Even the fire department has left. Without proper oversight and reporting this type of situation will become common and thousands of people will die or be permanently sickened.
This Garden Grove situation is too late to stop but we can limit future damage by returning our Government to Citizen control instead of Billionaires and Corporations who wouldn’t let these situations anywhere near their homes.
Deregulation is by design going to enrich the rich at Ordinary Everyman’s expense. Yes, that is you snd me.

Primary season is upon us. Your deadline to register is June 22nd. Check to make sure you're on the voting rolls. If you're registered as an independent/unaffiliated voter you can still participate in a party's primary, you just have to request your ballot and specify which partisan ballot you want.
