🏠 Helping Home Happen! ❤ Isaac, Lisa, and their five kids (yes five!) came to Good Samaritan Rescue Mission last year. This was, of course, not by choice; they were in the process of relocating when the deal on a house they planned to move into fell through. This left them with nowhere to go but our shelter.
At first, Isaac and Lisa felt uneasy, but as they determined to keep moving forward, they soon found the mission to be a big aid in their journey... much more than just a safe place to lay their head. "The mission has sharpened us both as individuals and as a family," Isaac said.
🙏 Their Guest Advocate had wonderful things to say of their time here too. "They are a hard-working, kind-hearted family. I love the respect and love that they have for each other and their kids." Even more comforting to Tanida was their faith in God! "Their faith in God is so refreshing and encouraging to me. They pray together and I believe that is what keeps their marriage strong," she said.
Knowing their determination and strong faith, it is no surprise that they succeeded in our Impact Program, even while raising five kids and looking for work. What a joy it was to hear their story and hear of all they have overcome... and to be part of the village that helps deliver God's blessings to this family is such an honor! God really has blessed them. Even the house they moved into is warm and will make a lovely space for them to raise their family, as they continue to strive towards home ownership, which is one of their goals. We pray they find success in that goal and any others any others they set.
