Round Lake State Park is a beautiful forested park in the northern panhandle of Idaho.

This Sunday, June 21st, from 12-2:30pm, join in on building birdhouses to support our local robin population. Material will be provided, but supplies are limited to 12-18 bird houses. Meet at the visitor center.

This Saturday, June 20th, we will be holding another program called "What Tree is That?". We will depart from the visitor center at 6pm and take a casual short walk around the day use area to discuss how to identify a few common trees you can find here at Round Lake State Park. Afterwards, stick around for a crafting opportunity. We will have a limited supply of tree cookies available to paint and take home as a souvenir, or maybe a gift for dad 😉. The wether forescast is calling for sunny and warmer temperatures, so be sure to bring plenty of water! We have some water filling areas around the dayuse area and campground.

We had a wonderful turnout for our Wildflower Walk this weekend! If you missed out on this program, no worries, we are holding another nature program this coming Saturday June 20th. More details to be posted soon!

This summer we will have "Program Punch Cards" for people to use to receive some extra park prizes! Attend one of our park programs, such as our wildflower walk, and recieve a punch on the card above. After attending 8 park programs at Round Lake State Park, bring your completed card to the visitor center to recieve a cool park poster! Your card will also be entered to win a free kayak or canoe rental for the summer of 2027. One card per person per summer. The card can be used for program collections until Labor Day. To qualify for the free kayak/canoe rental, the card must be completed and turned in by Labor Day 2026.

Another fun challenge we have available this summer is our "250-Minute Adventure Challenge" in celebration of America's 250th birthday. Complete 250 minutes of outdoor activities here at Round Lake and recieve the "250-Minute Adventure Challenge" certificate from the visitor center. This awesome family not only took the lead on our invasive snail bounty board, but also completed the adventure challenge as well! Share your experience on socials to inspire others to unplug, get out side and experience new adventures. This challenge ends on Labor Day September 7th.

Calling all Jr. Rangers! This weekend we are kicking off a Photo Rally. While hiking our trails keep an eye out for the listed interpretive signs, and take a picture or selfie with at least 3 of them to earn a Jr.Ranger badge. Show off your pictures to a park staff member in the visitor center to receive your Jr. Ranger badge. You have between June 12-14th to complete the Photo Rally.

Join us this Saturday June 13th, 3-5pm, for our Wildflower Walk. Please meet at the visitor center lawn at 3pm. On the wildflower walk, learn how to identify some of the common local wildflowers here at Round Lake State Park. After the wildflower walk, stick around and we will show you how to make a crafty "Flower Ball" to help spread native wildflowers.

Take advantage of Idaho's free fishing day coming up this weekend on Saturday June 13th. No fishing license is needed this day, but bag limits and regulations are still to be followed. If you need a fishing pole, stop into the visitor center and ask about our loaner fishing poles. We also offer canoe, kayak and SUP rentals if you want to explore the lake.
