Recovered Property Investigation – Public Assistance Requested

The Saguache County Sheriff's Office is currently working to identify the rightful owners of numerous recovered items, including bicycles, power tools, generators, electronics, and other property believed to be stolen.

If you believe you have been the victim of a theft involving any of these items, we encourage you to complete the attached Property Claim Form and submit it to our Investigations Division.

If you are unable to access the attached form, please send an email to: [email protected] requesting a Property Claim Form, and one will be provided to you.

To assist with identifying property, please provide as much information as possible, including:

SAGUACHE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE

On May 28, 2026, the Saguache County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the Northern Valley Fast Action Special Tactics (FAST) Team, executed a court-authorized search warrant at a residence on Miles Street in Center, Colorado.

During the operation, investigators recovered more than 200 items of suspected stolen property believed to be associated with multiple theft investigations throughout the region. The recovered property is currently being cataloged and processed as part of the ongoing investigation.

Additionally, one adult male was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Rio Grande County Sheriff's Office.

The Saguache County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Rio Grande County Sheriff's Office, Center Police Department, Del Norte Police Department, and members of the Northern Valley FAST Team for their assistance and continued partnership. Their cooperation and professionalism were instrumental in the successful ex*****on of this operation.

Individuals who believe they may be victims of theft and have property that could be connected to this investigation are asked to watch for future announcements from the Saguache County Sheriff's Office. Information regarding the identification and recovery process for recovered property will be released in the coming days.

**FAST Team Assists Del Norte Police Department with High-Risk Search Warrant Ex*****on**

DEL NORTE, Colo. — On May 18, 2026, at the request of the Del Norte Police Department, the Northern Valley FAST (Fast Action Special Tactics) Team was activated to assist with the ex*****on of a high-risk search warrant within the Town of Del Norte.

The warrant was served at a residence located within the town limits of Del Norte. During the operation, multiple fi****ms were seized as evidence.

Authorities reported the operation was completed safely and without incident.

The Northern Valley FAST Team continues to provide regional tactical support and assistance to partnering law enforcement agencies throughout the Northern San Luis Valley.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, additional information may be released at a later time.

**High-Risk Search Warrant Executed in Center, Colorado Results in Multiple Arrests and Drug Seizure**

Saguache County, CO — On March 26, 2026, the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Rio Grande County Sheriff’s Office, the Center Police Department, and the Del Norte Police Department, executed a high-risk search warrant on Miles Street in Center, Colorado. The warrant was served by the Northern Valley Fast Action Special Tactics (FAST) Team.

As a result of the operation, five individuals were taken into custody. Law enforcement officers seized approximately 65 grams of methamphetamine, 15 grams of fentanyl, 3 grams of he**in, various Schedule II through V prescription medications, and U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from illicit drug distribution.

The following individuals were arrested and charged:

* **Crystal Marquez** was taken into custody on a warrant for Failure to Comply. She is charged with Theft involving property valued between $20,000 and $100,000, a Class 4 Felony.
* **John Gardner Sr.** was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear. His charges include Forgery of a Legal Document, Theft under $300 (Petty Offense), Arrest on an Out-of-Jurisdiction Warrant, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs, and Careless Driving.
* **John Gardner Jr.** was also taken into custody on a warrant. He faces multiple charges, including Identity Theft, Forgery (Class 5 Felony), Criminal Possession of a Financial Device, Theft of $50–$299.99, Second Degree Forgery, and Unauthorized Use of a Financial Transaction Device.
* **Donnie Jaramillo** was arrested on a warrant for Violation of a Protection Order. He also faces an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Drug Felony.
* **Katherine Garcia** has been charged with Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, a Drug Felony 2, and Obstruction of a Peace Officer.

The Saguache County Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the Rio Grande County Sheriff’s Office, the Center Police Department, the Del Norte Police Department, and the Northern Valley FAST Team for their coordinated efforts and assistance in this operation.

This case remains under investigation. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
