It is a sad realization that, due to the fact of our dry conditions and lack of moisture that your district departments have decided to post pone our annual 4th of July celebration in town this year. It is just a risk we are not willing to take with our community.
We have decided that in lieu of 4th of July we are looking to do a big event for Labor Day weekend. In hopes that we get the moisture we need during monsoon season.

This week we recognize the DISPATCHERS, the voice on the other end of a 911 call. The FIRST first responder when a call for help is made, though not seen as often, but one of the most important! They are the calm voice, they are the coordination specialist in times of crisis, they are the ones that take care of us all! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITIES YOU STAND WATCH OVER!

NSCFPD is planning a wild land fire fighter training / controlled burn. On County Road 53 & Y. This burn will be in progress Saturday, 21st, 630 am to 12/1 pm. This is a district wide training. Please do not call 911 and overload the command center with calls of smoke. Thank you!

CHIEF'S NOTES: As spring is approaching and people are wanting to start some yard clean up, please remember to call Saguache County Dispatch for any controlled burns in the county, before you ignite. Also please be advised there is also a town burn ban in effect for Saguache town limits.
