A Special Invitation to Families
You Are Not Alone. The Resources You Need May Be Closer Than You Think.
Dear Families, Caregivers, Guardians, and Friends,
Raising or caring for a child or adult with a developmental or physical disability can be a beautiful journey filled with love, strength, and joy—but it can also come with questions, challenges, and the constant search for the right resources.
That is why the St. Albans On Purpose Project is bringing the community together for a FREE Developmentally Disabled Community Resource Fair.
We want families to know something very important:
You do not have to figure everything out by yourself.
More than 20 organizations, businesses, and community service providers are confirmed to attend, bringing information, assistance, programs, and opportunities together in one place.
Families will have the opportunity to meet people who can help with resources such as:
IDD waiver assistance and support
Representative Payee and financial assistance services
Assistance with building wheelchair ramps and making homes more accessible
Help with handicap-accessible bathrooms and other home modifications
Dance, movement, and recreational opportunities for children and adults with physical and developmental challenges
Day programs and activities
ISS and ICF homes and services
Healthcare, therapy, advocacy, and community support
And many other resources designed to help individuals and their families
Why Should You Come?
Because finding the right resource can change a family’s life.
Maybe you have been trying to find a day program. Maybe you need help navigating the IDD waiver system. Maybe your home needs a ramp or accessible bathroom. Maybe you are looking for activities where your loved one can participate, make friends, and simply have fun.
You may find the answer—or the person who can help you find the answer—at this event.
This is not just a resource fair.
It is an opportunity to ask questions, make connections, discover possibilities, and meet people who genuinely want to help.
And most importantly, there is absolutely NO COST to attend.
