Curiosity is in the air at Maple Run!

Our classrooms are buzzing with little adventures, big questions, exciting discoveries, and plenty of “Let’s see what happens!” moments.

Our students are learning by exploring, creating, experimenting, sharing ideas, and having a whole lot of fun along the way!

Every day brings something new to discover, and we love seeing where their curiosity takes them!

Writing words is important work, but who says it can’t be fun, too?

Our students are practicing letters, sounds, and words in all kinds of hands-on ways. Whiteboard markers, Play-Doh, shaving cream… whatever helps make learning stick!

At Maple Run, there’s always learning happening, and there’s often a whole lot of fun happening right alongside it.

Write it, build it, squish it, spell it!

It’s Powder Puff night!

Come out and cheer on our Bellows Free Academy Comets as they take on the Missisquoi Valley Union Mustangs in this annual community event!

All proceeds benefit Camp Ta-Kum-Ta and the Jim Bashaw Cancer Fund.

Bring your family and friends, show your school spirit, and help support two wonderful causes in our community.

Let’s go, Comets!

Spirit Week brought some extra fun to our schools!

Crazy Weather Day had everyone showing off their favorite kind of weather. Rain, sunshine, storms, snow, and everything in between made an appearance!

Everyone came dressed for their favorite type of weather, or better yet, come AS your favorite type of weather!

We love seeing the creativity, smiles, and school spirit!

MAPLE RUN SPOTLIGHT: NOHEA KING

Sometimes the best stories are the ones that bring you right back home.

This week, we’re celebrating Nohea King, a 2005 City School graduate, 2009 BFA graduate, longtime athlete, educator, coach, and now a member of the Vermont State University Castleton Athletics Hall of Fame.

Nohea was a student-athlete at City School and BFA before continuing his lacrosse career at Castleton, where he became one of the Spartans’ standout players from 2010–2013. He was a three-time All-NAC selection, was named NAC Player of the Year in 2011, and also competed in cross country, earning multiple All-Conference honors. He was a three-time team MVP.

Noah returned to BFA in 2022, where he teaches health and physical education and serves as the head coach of the BFA boys lacrosse team.

From Maple Run student-athlete to Castleton Spartan to BFA educator and coach, Nohea’s journey has come full circle.

Congratulations, Nohea, on this well-deserved honor!

A little break from the books, a little time with friends, and a whole lot of beautiful Vermont sunshine.

Our middle school students took a few minutes to soak in the crisp fall air and enjoy one of those perfect autumn days that remind us how lucky we are to call Vermont home.

Autumn is here, and we’re enjoying every bit of it!

Learning to play together is a big part of learning, too!

Our students are practicing cooperative play: working together, sharing ideas, taking turns, solving problems, and figuring things out as a team.

Sometimes it’s building something together, sometimes it’s creating a game, and sometimes it’s simply learning how to share the space and play alongside a friend.

Lots of little conversations, teamwork, problem-solving, and, of course, plenty of smiles!

So much learning happens when we give students time and space to play together.
