On this National Intern Day, we'd like to recognize our summer interns, Kaitlyn Maloy, who will be a sophomore at the The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the fall, and Daniel Tobias who will be a senior at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Kaitlyn and Daniel have been a tremendous asset to us this summer. They've worked on resources for college students, data projects, and even trained Election Judges. Thanks for all your hard work, Kaitlyn and Daniel!

Notice of Election (NOE) cards and sample ballots will be hitting mailboxes as early as today, so here are a few reminders:

1.) Because the August 6th election is a Primary, voters will need to choose one of four available party ballots (or issues only) when voting. The NOE includes all five options so voters can review their choices before voting.
2.) When choosing a party when voting, a voter is not affiliating with a political party, and it will not be part of their record. However, if they choose to affiliate, they can do so on the Secretary of State’s website.
3.) To fit all the ballot options in a single mailer, the images are small. Sample ballots can also be found on our website, stlouiscountymovotes.gov, and click on “sample ballot lookup.”
4.) The mailer also includes information about accessible voting and a permanently disabled list application. This can be filled out and returned to our office. This application is for the November 2024 and future elections, NOT the August elections.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, which marks the end of slavery in the United States and the freedom of Black Americans. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Texas and announced the end of the Civil War and the abolition of slavery. Juneteenth is also commonly referred to as “Jubilee Day,” “Freedom Day," and “Black Independence Day.” On June 17, 2021, Juneteenth officially became a federal holiday.

The St. Louis County Board of Elections will be closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
