🌊 Flood Information Session

The City of St. Augustine Beach and St. Johns County Emergency Management are hosting a Flood Information Session to help residents learn more about flood risks, preparedness, and available resources.

Okay, not really a hint. 😄 But our libraries are a great place to get out of the heat, enjoy the air conditioning, find a good book and relax in a comfy chair for a while.

Our library staff are pretty great, too. ❤️

So if you need a break from today’s extreme temperatures, consider spending a little time at one of our beautiful St. Johns County libraries.

Stay cool, stay hydrated and take the heat seriously today!

🥵Dangerous Heat Continues Through the Week
🌡️Near record heat will combine with seasonably high humidity to keep dangerously high heat indices in the forecast through Friday.
Make sure to:
🥤 Drink plenty of water
🚴‍♀️ Limit outdoor activity during the daytime
🎽 Wear loose, light-colored clothing
🚗 Never leave children or pets in the car for any length of time!

Today would be a great day to visit our friends at the St. Johns County Public Library. Grab that book you've been meaning to read all summer and settle into one of their comfy chairs for a relaxing afternoon.

🥵️ An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect today for St. Johns County. High temps in the mid to upper 90s this afternoon will feel more like 108-115 degrees when humidity values are factored in.
⚠️ Know the signs of heat exhaustion including feeling dizzy, excessive sweating, muscle cramps, and nausea. To stay cool, follow these suggestions:
🥤 Drink plenty of water
🚴‍♀️ Limit outdoor activity during the daytime
🎽 Wear loose, light-colored clothing
⛱️ Take plenty of breaks in the shade
🧴 Apply sunscreen regularly

Heat Advisory from 11am-8pm today for all of NE FL and SE GA. High temps in the mid to upper 90s with heat indices of 108-112 degrees. Stay hydrated, Limit strenuous time outdoors in the afternoon, Use AC and fans, wear lightweight clothing.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible over southeast Georgia and northeast Florida this afternoon and evening from 3pm - 9pm, mainly along the I-95 and US-301 corridors. Hazards include strong winds 40 to 60mph and locally heavy downpours, including potential urban flooding issues.
