Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine

Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine We support the Main Library. We post upcoming events including programs and book sales; and photos from those events. Augustine, FL.

Our goal is to keep our members up-to-date on what's happening in our library! We are a dynamic team of volunteers, supporting the Main Library in beautiful downtown St. We raise funds for programming, materials, technology, furnishings and any other identified needs that can not be met through the traditional library budget. We are the Main Library's very best Friends!

Free parking spaces were as rare as hen's teeth yesterday during a children's reading event yesterday at the St Johns Main Library (sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library). In addition to a hilarious magic show presented by comedian Mark Alan, other kids activities were available--including a (gulp) live baby alligator!

Judging from the smiles and laughter from the attending children, the day's event was a huge success!

Enjoy your holiday weekend, and spare a thought or two for the reasons behind it. We honor those who gave their lives for our country, and will never forget their sacrifices in doing so.

All of the St. Johns Country libraries, including the Main Library, will be closed on Memorial Day (Monday, May 25).

Mark your calendars for August 6, 1 pm at the Waterworks building next to the library. Why? Because American violinist Ilana Zaks-Nederlander will be performing a one-hour concert at that time.

Widely praised by many as a highly accomplished and dynamic violinist, Ilana has performed widely to great acclaim both in the U.S. and Europe. This event will no doubt be a memorable one, so come join us on the 6th.

Admission is free!

PLEASE NOTE: Due to high levels of recent book donations (thank you!) and impending need for carts and space on the library's part, we cannot accept book donations for approximately 3 weeks (exact timing to be determined, we will let you know!).

Thanks for your understanding during this time. We look forward to accepting your donations when space allows.

From the children's section of the New York Public Library, this was the "Bing wallpaper of the day" on my laptop. :-)

We don't have QUITE this many kids' books at the St. Johns Library Main Branch, but we have quite a few. If you have children, come visit us and check them out!
