The digital world is a huge part of our children’s lives—and as parents and caregivers, knowing how to help them navigate it safely is more important than ever.

Join us for a candid, practical conversation about online safety, social media, digital risks, and the things parents need to know to help keep our kids safe behind the screen.

Presented by the Tristyn Bailey Strong in partnership with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, featuring Jennifer Dunton, ASA (Ret.), and Sgt. Chris Mobley, SJSO.

9/11 25th Anniversary Ceremony of Remembrance

On Friday, September 11, the City of St. Augustine and St. Augustine Fire Department will gather to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

This year’s Ceremony of Remembrance returns to the Plaza de la Constitución, where the City’s first remembrance ceremony was held in 2002.

The ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m., with a moment of silence at 8:45 a.m. It will include the presentation of colors, an invocation, remarks from retired FDNY Captain Chris Garaizar, the traditional “Striking the Four 5’s,” and “Amazing Grace” performed by bagpipes and drums.

As we mark 25 years, our community comes together to reflect, remember, and honor the courage and resilience shown in the face of tragedy.

It’s almost that time of year when our community experiences King Tides, a recurring seasonal occurrence that can bring higher-than-normal water levels and potential nuisance flooding to low-lying areas.

Periods of higher water levels are anticipated around the following dates:

September 9–10
September 27–30
October 9–13
October 25–30
November 7–9
November 23–27

As in previous years, weather conditions such as nor’easters, strong winds, and heavy rainfall can increase water levels and flooding impacts.

Residents, businesses, and visitors are encouraged to monitor local weather conditions and use the Hohonu Dashboard for predicted water levels and timing:

🚸 2 Days Until the First Day of School!

School starts Monday, and that means school zones will be active once again.

Help keep our students safe by remembering a few important safety reminders:
🚸 Slow down and obey posted school zone speed limits.
🛑 Stop for school buses when required by Florida law.
👀 Watch carefully for students walking, biking, and crossing streets.
📵 Stay focused and avoid distractions while driving.
