Come check out some of the vehicles used by our officers during a Vehicle Show and Tell, and see police technology in action with a drone demonstration.

More rain and King Tides means it’s a good time to talk about flooding.

King Tides are expected October 9-13. These are some of the highest predicted high tides of the year and can cause minor flooding in coastal and low-lying areas. When King Tides coincide with heavy rain, strong winds, or large waves, flooding can become more significant.

With rain continuing in our area, please keep these safety reminders in mind:

Avoid driving through standing water whenever possible. If a road is flooded, turn around and find another route.

If you must drive through standing water, go slowly and don’t make a wake. Waves created by vehicles can push water farther onto neighboring properties and toward homes. Slowing down is a simple way to be a good neighbor.

Don’t park in areas that are likely to flood.

King Tides are a natural part of our fall tide cycle, but a little preparation and consideration can help keep our community safer. 🌊

Turn around when you can. Slow down when you must. And please, don’t make a wake.

***Drug Trafficking Arrest***

On October 4th, 2026, St. Augustine Police officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted Donald Smith, 35, and Amanda Wells, 40. During the investigation, officers located approximately 25 grams of crystal methamphetamine, Ma*****na, and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Both were charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Great work by our officers getting this dangerous drug off our streets.

🚦 Upcoming Weekend Traffic Disruptions

Motorists should be aware of two events that may impact traffic in St. Augustine this weekend.

🏃 Pink Up the Pace 5K | Saturday, October 3, 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Participants will travel through downtown and neighborhoods south of the Plaza, including portions of Avenida Menendez, Marine Street, South Street, Washington Street, Cordova Street, and other nearby roadways.

🚲 Bike MS: Cycle to the Shore | Saturday, October 3-Sunday, October 4

Motorists should also expect increased bicycle traffic and potential traffic disruptions as cyclists participating in Bike MS: Cycle to the Shore travel through the St. Augustine area. Drivers should use extra caution and be prepared to share the road with cyclists.

Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time, stay alert, and follow directions from law enforcement and traffic personnel throughout the weekend.
