When we say “A Legacy of Protection,” this is what we mean.
VKA started right here in St. Augustine in 1973. A lot has changed since then — especially the technology.
Today, we’re installing smart security systems, video surveillance, access control, fire protection and connected technology that would have looked pretty futuristic back then.
But some things haven’t changed: our commitment to this community, doing the job right, and being here when our customers need us.
More than 50 years of local experience. Today’s best security technology. The same commitment to our neighbors.
That’s our legacy of protection.

Good security starts with the right equipment—and a professional installation.

Our local VKA technicians take the time to securely install and position each camera for the property it’s protecting.

No one-size-fits-all packages. Just a security system designed for your home and installed by a team you can call when you need us.

Good security starts with the right plan.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at some recent VKA commercial installations around Northeast Florida.

Every business is different. That’s why we design each system around the property, the people using it, and what actually needs to be protected.

From security and cameras to access control, fire alarms and locksmith services — VKA can bring it all together.

I grew up with VKA being part of our family. Now my kids are growing up with it too.
When I was younger, I don't think I fully understood what it meant that my grandfather started this company, or how much of his life — and later my dad's — went into building it.
I understand it differently now.
I'm raising my own family in the same community we serve every day. Our customers are our neighbors. They're parents we see at school, people we run into around town, and local business owners we've known for years.
There's something pretty special about being the third generation to carry VKA forward. But there's also a responsibility that comes with putting your family's name behind a business for more than 50 years.
I want my kids to grow up knowing that how you treat people matters. That your word matters. And that earning someone's trust is something you never take for granted.
Maybe one day they'll understand why this local security company has always been such a big part of our family, too.

This is what home security is really about.

Backyard games. Family conversations. Ordinary afternoons that turn into good memories.

The technology matters—but what it protects matters more.

Little eyes notice the everyday routines. 👀

A quick stop at the alarm keypad, with a curious helper watching along. It’s a small moment, but it’s a good reminder: feeling at home is about the people who share it with us.

What’s the one thing you always double-check before heading out the door?

Ever wonder what your camera sees when VKA shows up? 👋
A good security system isn't just about what happens when an alarm goes off. It's being able to see who's at the door, check on your home when you're away, get alerts when something happens and keep everything connected in one system.

And when you need help with it? The person pulling into your driveway is from right here in Northeast Florida — not a national call center.

VKA Security has been serving our neighbors since 1973, but today's technology looks a little different than it did back then. 😉

Today, we remember.
Twenty-five years later, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families whose lives were forever changed.
We also remember the courage, service and sense of community that brought Americans together in the days that followed.
May we never forget.
