We need YOU and our beach needs YOU too! Please join us for the International Coastal Clean Up this Saturday! We are partnered with Friends of A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byway and we'll be meeting at the GTM Marineland office located at 9741 N. Oceanshore Blvd from 8 - 12 on Saturday, September 15. Last month NEAP staff and volunteers attended the last oyster roast of the season at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach. Oyster shell has been collected from this event for the last 7 years as part of the NEAP’s oyster shell recycling program. Over 1000 pounds of shell was collected from this year’s event and many event attendees were informed on the importance for oyster reefs in coastal ecosystems and how oyster shell recycling supply’s shell to current oyster reef restoration efforts.
